Heritage Weekend 11th - 12th September 2010

Exhibits in Hut 27 Buses displayed outside hut 27

The English Heritage open days were blessed with fine weather and proved a great success. The 200 plus visitors who turned up for the guided tours were given a unique insight into the history and current usage of the Hangars.

The Trust fully intends to be involved in this annual event and is already at work planning for next year.

The donations left by many of the visitors will be used to help improve the site.

Bus 'running day'

These pictures show a Bus ‘running day’ held at Hooton Park recently. The event was arranged to celebrate fifty years of two of the buses. Not ‘antiques’ but certainly of a certain age when vehicles such as these were commonplace and life was somehow easier. Despite clashing with another bus event, it was well attended.
Photographs kindly supplied by the enthusiasts through John Nolan. Do you have any stories relating to old buses? Email them to info@hootonparktrust.co.uk Would you support a larger meeting? Let us know.
